How Money Will Impact You as a Christian

A lot of ministers preach, “money is the root of all evil.” This leads many Christians to think that being Christ-like means being poor and that being rich is evil. This mindset will make sure that you stay miserable forever, making it difficult to properly take care of your family.

When you look at the Bible, there were a lot of rich folks there. Take, for instance, Abraham, God wouldn't call him evil. So, what does 1 Timothy 6:10 really mean?

First of all, it's the love of money that's the root of all evil. What you choose to do with your money is what can be defined as good or evil. This is because you can't live without money. You can't barter for everything you need. However, money isn't only to be used for our necessities, but it's also to be used for furthering God's kingdom.

God said He wanted to bless Abraham so that he could be a blessing. He desired for Abraham to pass his blessings on to others, and God needs you to do the same today.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't be frugal. After all, God calls us to be good stewards of the blessings He instills upon us. What I am saying is that we need to change the way we look at money so that we can move forward in life.
